Mandira Tamrakar
Associate Professor Mandira Tamrakar (Nepal) is a faculty member currently of Central Department of Home Science and Women Studies which is running Post Graduate Diploma in Women Studies and Master Degree in Gender Studies.
Currently, she is serving as Associate Professor in position and conducting academic teaching and research activities from women and gender perspectives to bring gender equity, equality and women empowerment in the family, household, community and state level. Ms.Mandira is teaching in Padma Kanya Campus of Tribhuwan University, mainly on Humanities and Social Sciences, as a Home Scientist, she is transforming the knowledge and skills about Human Nutrition, Health and Environment Sanitation, Nutrition and Gender. Ms. Mandira had graduated from Humanities and Social Sciences from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu in 1984 with Merit.She has obtained academic trainings in Japan, Australia, Canada, Bangaladesh, India and she had presented papers in Malaysia, Beijing(China ), Japan, India, Autralia, and Canada.
Ms. Mandira will be presenting the paper on “New course in education for a peaceful world in the future”. Mandira’s paper mostly highlight on the new education course that is introduced into some schools that help to transform the moral education, religious, spiritual knowledge and to practice meditation side by side. The result of the new course has shown that there is some positive result among the students who have learnt the new course in school education at present. The new course teaches them many good teachings based on five precipts of Buddha’s teachings such as non violence, not killing, not stealing other’s things, non adulteration or misconduct, not lying, not taking alcoholics. Also they have developed compassion, love, helping each other, humanity and impermanence and good discipline for self and for others.
