Betty McLellan PhD

Dr. Betty McLellan (Australia) is a feminist ethicist, author, psychotherapist and committed activist of long standing. One of four women who comprise the
Coalition for a Feminist Agenda, and the facilitator of the f-agenda email discussion list, Betty’s focus is deliberately local and global. Working with others to create a solid feminist core in Townsville, she also maintains a radical commitment to global feminist activism. She is also Adjunct Associate Professor at James Cook University in Townsville, Australia. Betty is the author of Overcoming Anxiety (Allen & Unwin, 1992), Beyond Psychoppression: A Feminist Alternative Therapy (Spinifex Press, 1995) and Help! I'm Living with a Man/Boy (Spinifex Press, 1999/ 2006) now translated into 13 languages. Her fourth book, Unspeakable: A feminist ethic of speech, focusing on the politics of speech as a feminist ethical issue, will be released later in 2009.
